Cumberland mural a community effort

Former Harlan County High School student Emily Eldridge stood in front of the mural recently completed in Cumberland on the side of Buff’s Bows and Gifts. Volunteers spent several days and used quite a bit of paint to complete the project.

First aid instructions

Students in the Life Skills classes at Harlan County High School learned first aid recently from Harlan ARH trauma coordinator Jennifer Williamson. Students were taught how to bandage and stabilize injuries. Students also got a look at a Trans-Star ambulance and heard from paramedic Robert Bell and EMT Chris Couch. Bell talked to several students, including Amil Wilson, Houston Williams, Andrew Hensley and Casey Jones as they sat in the ambulance as it made a stop at HCHS.
